For the most part, the people
are polite, friendly, and very helpful to foreign visitors. If one had to
find anything negative to say, they do seem to express themselves with

Of course, the fact that I had my sports car wrecked outside of Milan many years ago, by some fool of a driver, probably has a prejudicial effect on that opinion.
At any rate, I returned to Italy in early October, 2000. I visited Rome, Venice (via the Orient Express), the Lake Como area, and finally caught the return flight from Milan. Don't ever go to Italy in October-it rains and rains and rains. But, eventually, it all turns to snow in the higher elevations so there is some benefit to the weather pattern.
