"Volden Farm Bed and Breakfast features the LAW OFFICE--a separate little house on the prairie providing comfort and privacy for a couple or a small family. There is a bath with shower and a kitchenette. The remainder of the first floor suite consists of a luxurious king size beatherbed and cozy sitting area. Upstairs there are two twin size beds=a a new, built-in Swedish bed and the other a thirties style bed.  You can see forever from the two window seats or enjoy the morning sunrise from the balcony.
In the middle 1880's this building was a lumber company office on the main street of Cooperstown, North Dakota. We have been told that the first lawyer in Griggs County worked from a desk in the building.  In the 1920's Henry Nelson bought and moved it a few blocks south for his family. By lowering the ceiling and adding a staircase, he created a second floor.
This small house at the edge of town being used only for storage, caught our eye in 1979. We especially liked the curving roof line because it matched that of the grandchildren's playhouse. We decided it would be perfect for Jim to use as his law office when he finished law school so we move it 15 miles to Volden Farms.
After restoration, the building was Jim's law office for five years until he moved his practice into Cooperstown. Realizing it would be a marvelous addition to our Bed and Breakfast business, we have made it comfortable and convenient while still retaining the character of Jim's law office.  We know you will love it."
